Below is a link to a Health Affairs article, “Battling The Mental Health Crisis Among The Underserved Through State Medicaid Reforms.” The article looks at the importance of expanding behavioral health care coverage and notes the impact of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and related benefit parity requirements.
The article also talks about the importance of state-level initiatives and provides examples in part from the work they have done with behavioral health and primary care associations participating in the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-funded Delta Center for a Thriving Safety Net. The NYS Council is one of ten states participating in the Delta Center project, working with our partners at CHCANYS.
The Delta Center focuses on building policy and advocacy capacity to advance state-level value-based payment and care and fostering state- and national-level collaboration between primary care and behavioral health.
