Growth in Opioid Abuse in NYS

The NYS Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare is a member of Prescription for Progress, a coalition of community business leaders, philanthropists, media outlet representatives and system stakeholders working together to educate the public regarding the ongoing Opioid Epidemic and its’ impacts on local communities. Last week PforP heard from leaders at the Siena College Research Institute that recently conducted a statewide poll looking at new data and public perceptions of the Epidemic. Important information below.  

The number of New Yorkers who report being affected by opioid abuse has grown in the last two years, with 59 percent reporting that they or someone they know has abused opioids. (TU)
